Cheerleader and Opera Singer (pencil is for giving autographs)
I love this project! I have been doing this project my entire teaching career (all 12 years of it)! I am sure that you know what I am talking about…Disguise a turkey so it won’t get eaten for Thanksgiving. I am not sure where I got the the current template I am using (if it’s you, let me know I would love to give you credit!). The whole second grade does this a family at home project. The kiddos are to disguise their turkey and use the bubble to describe their disguise! Every year I am extremely impressed with the creativitiy of the kiddos an their parents! This is one of my favorite projects of the year. There is often a traffic jam right outside my door because everyone is stopping to check the “not turkeys” out! These aren’t the greatest pictures (my fourth grade son took them for me), but they do show a lot of the turkeys. Some of them are my teaching partner’s kiddo’s turkeys. We got all kinds this year! The kiddos are so creative! Of course there are a ton more, but these are the pictures that came out the best.
This notebook has been so valuable for tracking reading progress! I have created multiple notebooks for multiple grades. I have found this to be so helpful for keeping on the same page with my aide as well. We can both pop into this and see what work has been done with which students! Thank you for this wonderful teaching aide!
