Of course, after I took these pictures I rearranged my classroom, but these show my desk islands better.
This summer while blog hopping I saw something similar that at teacher had made using bookshelves. I just couldn’t spend any more money on my classroom so I had to compromise using what I already had. Basically, I had our custodian lower several of the desks in my classroom as far as they could go to create “islands” where the kiddos could easily store their book boxes and table caddies. I am still trying to figure something out to attach to the caddies to number my tables. The islands work great and it keeps the book boxes upright! The only issue that I am having is that the name tag holders/pencil holders that my wonderful father in law made me, keep falling into the “islands”. I am working on that! If you have any ideas I would love to hear about them! Thanks for reading! 🙂
This notebook has been so valuable for tracking reading progress! I have created multiple notebooks for multiple grades. I have found this to be so helpful for keeping on the same page with my aide as well. We can both pop into this and see what work has been done with which students! Thank you for this wonderful teaching aide!
