Thinkin ’bout Rubrics, and a free one!

So, at school we have been talking about the classroom practices that get the “most bang for your buck”.  One of the things that we have been talking about it having the kiddos self-assess.  Having the students think about how they are doing with a particular topic, gives them ownership.  An easy way of having the kiddos do this is by having them hold up a number of fingers (or put it down next to their hearts) to indicate understanding.  The number of fingers they hold up correspond to their level of understanding on the rubric.
